Description

This is a Tree of Life silkwork picture with silk and metallic threads on a gold moiré silk ground.  It was worked in 1754 by Mary King of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  The picture features a lion and a leopard beneath a large flowering tree with birds and butterflies. This is an iconic image from the Winterthur Museum’s American Decorative Arts. This a deposit for Evette from Royal School’s  class at our Boothbay Harbor Needlepoint Retreat September 30th through October 2, 2022. Two full days of stitching at the idyllic Boothbay Harbor Inn on the coast of Maine.  Boothbay Harbor Inn has reserved the Inn for us!  They are also providing a discount when you make a reservation.  Arrival on Friday – pick up your kit, meet fellow needlepointistas, browse the beautiful town, and end the day with a Lobster Fest or your choice for dinner from a yummy menu we will provide.  Saturday and Sunday breakfast served before classes and we end Saturday with another marvelous dinner.  We can even stitch outside in the early evening after classes around the fire pit and enjoy the gorgeous view.  Classes are limited. SEE YOU THERE! Once registered we will send you lots of information!
